Flowty Updates
Considering this is the first edition of the newsletter, it’s probably appropriate to revisit more than just the past month… for any new readers or new visitors to Flowty, this is for you; for any avid Flowty users and Office Hours frequenters, this is either already second nature or will hopefully be a good reminder!
Over the last few weeks, the team has pushed out some impactful UI / UX updates, while significant feature work is ongoing behind the scenes. Users will see continued updates and adjustments to the Landing Page and to the browsing experience, including better display on mobile for Traits and Listings filter options, more visible “Refresh” options for either a collection or an NFT, a one-click option to open up an asset in a new tab, and more.
Stepping back a little further, primarily for the unapprised, our Save Filter Preset has come in handy for collectors during the various Top Shot Leaderboards snapshots. While we already boast a robust filter and search function, users can now save their search filters to a Custom View list, making it easier to return to previous searches with just one click. Considering we’re the only platform on Flow to support offers on NFL All Day, UFC Strike, La Liga, Jolly Jokers, Hoodlums, and more, Flowty is the ideal place for your browsing and dealhunting.
Recent Updates:
Right-Click NFT Cards: Users can now open an asset in a new tab without having to first view the NFT card popup modal.
Offer Improvements: Improvements to the offering and accepting process, including the ability to make offers on unlisted NFTs.
Enable Collection: We’ve added an Enable Collection button on Collection pages to ensure your wallet is configured correctly.

Flovatar community and holders rejoiced, as the $DUST DAO Board voted Yes at over 90%, and $DUST was officially launched. Flovatar owners can claim $DUST daily in their Collection page, with a dedicated area for current $DUST balance, daily claim, current airdrops, and $DUST transactions. In the first hour after launch, over 35,000 tokens had been burned as part of holder upgrades, including the Psyche Likee NFT minting.
Aside from daily earnings, other $DUST utilities include upgrading Flobits, giving a unique name and bio to a user’s Flovatar, downloading a printable 3D model of a user’s Flovatar, and more. With 500 million in total minted, $DUST will soon be tradeable on Increment.Fi and is already a supported currency on Toucans.

This Week’s Features
Collector’s Journey: Some Brains and Braun
Ben Kukainis, Flowty.io
This past June, I made a poor trading decision. Or did I?
The jury remains out, but this recent time frame surrounding a Christian Braun moment has served as a perfect microcosm of what it’s like to collect NBA Top Shot.
A quick note: this is not a cautionary tale, nor is it a boastful anecdote; it’s simply the reality we live in as Top Shot collectors.
As the NBA Finals concluded and we all awaited the details on the NBA Finals Legendary Pack Drop, I was resigned to watch from the sidelines, having just completed both Rookie Revelation challenges and a bit thin in the wallet pocket. We know how well that goes though, right? Artwork gets released, pack moments make their rounds on social, FOMO sets in, and before you know it, you’ve sold your Jabari Smith reward for $888 and pulled a nice Jamal Murray in the NBA Finals Drop. If collecting has taught us anything, it’s to take gains when available; but if NBA Top Shot has taught us anything, it’s that anyone’s guess on pricing and the market is as good as the next guess.
So there I sat, sans Jabari Smith Jr Rookie Revelation, but in the green and in possession of what I believed to be the most valuable moment from the NBA Finals Pack Drop. I was fully ready to sell the Jamal Murray and debate on either withdrawing profits or trying to buy back my JSJ, but then I took a closer look at the Christian Braun NBA Finals Legendary moment. As a collector of rookies, a Legendary moment with two rookie badges and a championship badge is hard to come by. In fact, this Braun is the only one!... No rookie moments from the 2021 or 2022 NBA Finals drops, and both the Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn 2020 NBA Finals moments obviously don’t have a championship badge. So yes, this Christian Braun Legendary moment really is one of a kind... of 75.
I sold the Murray, picked up the Braun with a low offer, and was very pleased to still be up a few hundred dollars AND in possession with an epic rookie moment. Until again, there was a chance to take gains. And here is where my decisions became a bit impulsive, leaving me second-guessing even weeks later.
The Braun moment was on the rise as the Nikola Jokic challenge timer slowly ticked down. Like many a collector, I believed that most of the moments would come back down a bit after the challenge ended, so I was happy to make a $200 profit on it and sell it to a Denver collector completing the challenge.
Challenge ends. No Braun price drop. A day goes by. Still no price drop. Another day. An increase?! In what should be seen as a positive sign, this tightly minted set was being fairly diamond-handed, with very few for sale across the board and making my buyback wishes a bit more difficult. At long last, my impatience and impulsivity got the best of me, and I re-bought the moment for $150 higher than when I sold. I was still in the green, a bit sour having negated a recent profit, but happy to have secured the Braun. The floor price was now above $3000, calming my nerves a bit knowing I didn’t miss the boat. The problem, however, was that the Jabari Smith Jr Rookie Revelation floor was now $2000, more than double what I sold it for.
Here’s where this could possibly turn into a bit of self-sponsored content, but I assure you it is mere explanation. I wanted my Jabari Smith Jr back... Rookie Revelation was going to be the first Legendary set I ever completed, even if it took another year entirely. But I’ve already outlined the allure of the Braun moment. Rookie badges. Championship badge. Stunning cinematics. The JSJ, though? Draft footage and part of a set I so desire to complete. And there’s only one way to get liquidity from your NFTs without having to sell: NFT-Backed Loans.
As the only member of my family NOT to enter the economics or finance world professionally, it was initially difficult to grasp the full picture and benefits of NFT-Backed Loans. What if I can’t repay? How much interest should I assign to find a Lender? I’m not getting into any recommendations or the loan process itself, but instead will simply advocate for the purchasing power that NFT-Backed Loans can provide.
The good news? A lender funded my loan listing. The bad news? That Jabari Smith Jr was holding steady around $2000 and the buyer of my original JSJ was intent on holding (rightfully so!). I weighed my options. There were several other high end moments that have been bookmarked for quite some time, so with the new funds from my Braun loan, I sent out several offers on moments such as Anthony Edwards S2 Holo, Tyler Herro S1 Lace Em Up, RJ Barrett S1 Holo, Bennedict Mathurin Rookie Revelation, S3 Josh Giddey Holo.
Unfortunately, no biters. Perhaps that’s a sign of some strong holders, but either way, I instead directed my funds to some other desirable rookie moments, including an Anthony Edwards S2 MGLE, a Lu Dort S1 MGLE, a Jabari Smith Jr S4 MGLE... you get the point: I offered and snagged several rookie golds.
As it stands, I’m slowly flipping or simply depositing balance in increments to go towards repaying my loan for the Christian Braun. The idea not to repay and instead forfeit the moment to the Lender just isn’t a reality for me. Thus, the great end result to this whole narrative is that the Braun--which still only has 2 or 3 available for purchase--will be back in my collection alongside some other golden rookie moments...but it remains to be seen when I’ll manage to get back the Jabari Smith Jr.
Inconsequential perhaps in the grand scheme, but this series of events surrounding a single moment reminded me that even experienced collectors can overthink a set of options. With digital collectibles, we have at our grasp instant gratification: all options laid out neatly on a screen requiring just one or two clicks. Had it taken more than just a few clicks over the course of just minutes to sell a moment in order to purchase a pack, maybe I’m sitting here still with a Jabari Smith Jr. Rookie Revelation. Then again, it only takes a few clicks to get it back.
